How does an induction cooktop work?

Induction Technology

Induction Technology

• With induction technology, the cooking pot itself becomes the generator of heat. An electric current is sent to coils beneath the glass cooktop, thus generating an oscillating magnetic field that induces small electric currents in the pan. Much of this energy is then converted into heat.

• Only pans made of certain metals work with induction technology.

• The result is even cooking results (no hot spots), water boils in almost half the usual time, and the cooktop cools off faster than other types of cooktops.

• An easy test – if a magnet sticks to the bottom of your pan, it can be used on an induction cooktop.
