Where to put a dishwasher tablet.
In the basket? On the bottom floor of the dishwasher? If you just got a new dishwasher or are switching from powder or liquid detergent to dishwasher tabs, you might wonder where exactly to put a dishwasher tablet. A dishwasher tablet goes in the detergent compartment on the inside of the dishwasher door – the same place you put powder or liquid detergent.
Can you put a dishwasher tablet on the bottom of the dishwasher?
It should not be placed at the bottom of the dishwasher. Doing so won’t harm your appliance. However, putting the tablet in the compartment ensures it's released at the most effective time in a program. That's why we advise putting it in the designated compartment. Please refer to Bosch’s user manual for further information.

What's in a dishwasher tablet.
In general, a dishwasher tablet consists of:
- Builders to clean and soften the water
- Enzymes to tackle starch and protein
- Bleach to break down certain stains
- Surfactants to remove certain residue
How to use dishwasher tablets.*

Step 1
1. If needed, remove the tablet from the wrapper. Keep in mind most dishwasher tablets do not have a wrapper, so if in doubt, check the product instructions.
Step 2
2. Place in the designated compartment on your appliance..
Step 3
3. Close the compartment flap, select the program and press start.
*Please refer to tablet packaging for exact procedure.

Tablets vs liquid dishwasher detergent
Tablets are not the only detergent option available: there are also liquid versions. Here's a closer look at your options.
Tabs
Just pop in a tab and push start – done! Choose high quality: some budget-friendly dishwasher tabs might damage delicate items. To ensure tablets dissolve properly, use them according to the directions of the dishwasher and the tablet.
Liquid
Liquid detergents are poured into the dispenser. It is important to note that liquids can have compromised performance due to not being able to combine the cleaning power of both enzymes and bleach (since they're incompatible to mix) and therefore may exhibit less effective cleaning on certain stains or dish loads.

Help! I ran out of dishwasher tablets.
Nearly everyone can relate to this situation, right? As tempting as it is, avoid putting dish soap in the dishwasher. It's too foamy and can damage the appliance.
The best thing to do is ask a neighbor for a tablet or pop quickly to the store.

Dishwasher cleaner.
Most people don’t realize that grease and limescale can build up in the hidden parts and pipes of your dishwasher. Often this is hidden and can cause bad odors, or it even may reduce the performance of your dishwasher. Using a dishwasher cleaner, such as the Finish® Dishwasher Cleaner, allows for cleaning of the parts you can't see and removes grease and limescale build up in the pipes. This will leave your dishwasher hygienically clean and fresh smelling.

We recommend using FINISH™ detergent.

*vs Finish® Quantum® - Finish Quantum UltraMAX: Finish’s first ever tablet with CYCLESYNC™ technology, releasing the right ingredient at the right time. It also tackles burnt-on stains, no pre-rinsing needed.
FAQs.
Do not try to make homemade dishwasher tablets. This might damage the appliance and could be hazardous to your health. Additionally, using homemade tablets in your dishwasher might invalidate the warranty.
We recommend using Finish® Quantum UltraMaxTM for optimal performance. Remember that only using the dishwasher tablet will not give you the most reliable results. For optimal performance, use Finish® Quantum Jet-Dry® which provides 100% Better Drying vs. detergent alone, helping to prevent wet and spotty dishes – even on plastics!
Dishwasher tabs, liquid detergents, and powder detergents all go in the same place – the detergent compartment. Remember not to use hand dishwashing detergents as they can damage your appliance.
