The entire cooktop can be safely cleaned when it is cooled down by wiping with a soapy sponge, rinsing and then drying.
To clean stubborn messes: Remove all pots, pans and utensils and turn off the cooktop. Remove grates once they have cooled down. Grates are heavy so use care when handling them. Use a mild cleaning agent with a clean, soft cloth, rinse and then dry.
To clean stainless steel: Wipe with the grain when cleaning stainless steel. Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaning agent or stainless steel cleaner with a soft cloth. Wipe dry to avoid water marks. Do not use cleaning materials that contain chlorine since it is corrosive to stainless steel. Warning: Some stainless steel cleaners are known to have negative effects on materials other than stainless steel. Make sure to apply stainless steel cleaner to stainless steel components only!
To clean burner bases: Remove all pots, pans and utensils and turn off the cooktop. Remove grates once they have cooled down. Grates are heavy so use care when handling them. Use a mild cleaning agent and hot water with a soft cloth, rinse and then dry. A stiff nylon tooth brush may be used to clean port openings. Do not scratch or gouge the port openings and do not utilize a toothpick that may break off.
To clean the burner cap: Remove all pots, pans and utensils and turn off the cooktop. Remove grates once they have cooled down. Grates are heavy so use care when handling them. To clean grates: Remove all pots, pans and utensils and turn off the cooktop. Remove grates once they have cooled down. Grates are heavy so use care when handling them. Use a mild cleaner to clean the grates with a soft cloth, rinse and then dry. Blisters and chips on grates are common due to their exposure to extreme temperatures and rapid temperature changes. Acidic and sugar-laden spills deteriorate the enamel, so remove these spills as soon as safely possible. Abrasive cleaners can mar the grates. Do not clean grates in a self-cleaning oven.
To clean igniters: Carefully wipe the igniter with a cotton swab dampened with water after the igniter has cooled down. Gently scrape soil off with a toothpick. Avoid exposing the igniters to excessive water as a damp igniter may not light up. Remove any lint that may remain after cleaning.
Cleaners to always avoid: Do not use flammable cleaners.
