Deep Fried Zucchini Flowers

Ingredients:

  • 8 Zucchini Flowers
  • 1 cup A.P Flower
  • 1 16oz can or bottle Beer
  • 1 tsp Salt

Method:

Heat a pot of oil for a portable deep fryer to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a medium size bowl combined the flour, salt and beer together and whisk until it is fully incorporated. Once the oil is preheated, place the flowers in the bowl of batter and completely cover them. Scrap the flower on the inside of the bowl as you remove them to take of the access batter.

Place the flowers directly in the fryer and start frying. Flip the flyer every minute to create even browning. You will notice that when you start frying the flowers they will create a lot of bubbles, when the bubbles start to die down you are getting close to finishes (4-5 minutes). Remove the flowers when they are golden brown. Place on a sheet tray lined with paper towel, and season with salt right away. Serve on top of salads or mains as a garnish.
